GENESEO E-FREE CHURCH

To make followers of Jesus who serve others in His name.

By the grace of God, our church exists to worship Him, preach His Word, and make Him known throughout the world. We believe that our path is to first receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and then to live in bold response and obedience to all that He asks.

Deployed Podcast

Every week, we sit down to have an honest conversation about living out our faith. The Deployed podcast helps us to put our faith in action and to live on mission. Through these conversations and studies, we are able to challenge one another to live deployed as disciples of Jesus. Tune in every week to be challenged, encouraged, and deployed.

OUR CORE VALUES

These values are central to our purpose of making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Commitment to the Word of God
We will preach and teach in a responsible way that brings the truth to intersect with life. In addition, it is our intent to unashamedly preach and teach the whole counsel of scripture and be willing to teach difficult teachings of scripture. The Bible is inerrant in its content and will be central in all our teaching, worship, fellowship, and study.
(John 17:14-17; Ephesians 6:17; 2 Timothy 2:25, 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12)
A Commitment to Prayer
We will keep prayer at the center of our daily lives, activities, and decisions. We will provide opportunities for growth in our corporate and personal prayer lives. Every ministry and activity will be characterized by dependence on God, including regular prayer for the leadership of our church.
(Luke 11:1-13; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18; Ephesians 6:18)
A Commitment to Christ as the only Way
We will proclaim to all people that Jesus Christ is Lord, Savior, and the only mediator between God and humanity. Christ is the only means of salvation, and this grace is available to all who believe and accept him as their Savior, and we will be known as a Christ-centered church.
(John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 2:2)
A Commitment to a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Through personal evangelism and life style, corporate worship and programming we will stress the need for a personal relationship with Christ. Faith is personal, trusting and focused on the one True God. Further it is individualized.
(Isaiah 43:1; Psalm 56:4; Matthew 22:37-38; Psalm 139:1-3)
A Commitment to Authentic Relationships
We will provide opportunities for people to know and to be known, to love and to be loved, to care and to be cared for, to serve and to be served so everyone might experience the power of true friendship. We will do this as our loving commitment to our fellow believers, and as an example of Christ's love to the world. We will strive to preserve unity while recognizing and understanding that each person has the individual responsibility to be accepting of others and exhibit the character qualities outlined in scripture that promote the love and unity to foster such relationships.
(John 13:31-35; Acts :42-47; 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a)
A Commitment to Service
We will encourage and provide training opportunities that will enable each believer to identify and be involved in using their spiritual gifts for the benefit of the church and the glory of God. This commitment is intended to include recognition of and submission to Biblical Leadership. We will require our church leaders to meet the biblical qualifications as set forth in the Word of God. We will serve our God, our fellow believers, and our community, not just as an activity but as a mindset and a way of life.
(Matthew 20:25-28; John 13:1-17; Philemon 2:3-8; 1 Timothy 3:2-9; Titus 1:1-10)
A Commitment to Evangelism
We will encourage and equip all age groups to proclaim the message of salvation to those in their sphere of influence. We will seek to mentor, encourage, train and send out those called to full-time, vocational Christian service and actively support those around the world who have been called to "full-time" mission or ministry work.
(Matthew 28:19-20; John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Philemon 6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
A Commitment to Family
We are a family-oriented church which tried hard to train God's people to live effectively in Christian families. Our children's and youth miiistry place an emphasis upon growing young people God's way; yet designed to augment, not compete with, parental responsibilities. We will provide both ministry opportunities and teaching/learning programs for all members of the family-youngest to oldest as well as those who are unmarried. IN addition, it is our belief that strong, healthy marriages and a commitment to the sanctity of life are additional components of family commitment.
(Matthew 19:14; Proverbs 2:21-22; Proverbs 4:1; Proverbs 6:20; Proverbs 24:3-4; Psalm 139:13-16; Deuteronomy 6:6-9; 1 Timothy 4:12)
