Falling From Faith

Falling From Faith

Passage: 1 Timothy 4:1-5

Speaker: Pastor Stephen Palm

Series: The Blueprint for Building God’s Church

Category: Church-Life

The primary role of Pastor is to teach God’s people the Bible. This is why in chapter 1, Timothy is charged to stay in Ephesus so that certain teachers will not teach deceptive doctrines and lead God’s people astray. We must remember that the origin of false teaching didn’t begin in the mind of man, but goes all the way back to the garden, when the serpent said to Eve, “did God really say?” In these last days that we live in, the Bible tells us that there will be no shortage of false teachers who want to tickle the ears of their listeners. We must heed the warning of Jesus in Matthew 24:5, “many will come in my name, saying I am the Christ, leading many astray.” Deceitful doctrines plague the church today. Some are blatantly obvious while others are subtly sown. Like Timothy, God’s people have a great responsibility to discern and defend the truths handed down to them in the word of God.
