This message emphasizes the theme of perseverance in the face of opposition, as demonstrated by Paul and Barnabas in Iconium. The title of the message is "Enduring Opposition." In this text we see that Paul and Barnabas entered the synagogue in Iconium and spoke boldly, leading many Jews and Greeks to believe. They faced a smear campaign from unbelieving Jews, which poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against them. Despite the opposition, they continued to preach and God enabled them to perform signs and wonders to authenticate their message. In this text we also that there are guardrails set around perseverance. Sometimes we are called to remain and endure opposition. However, sometimes, when that opposition turns violent, there is wisdom in relocating and taking the message to others who may be more open to receive God's gospel message.
