Viral: Part 44: Imperfect People, Perfect God

Feb 22, 2026    Stephen Palm

In this sermon entitled "Irreconcilable Differences" we will see the tragic breakdown of the partnership between Paul and Barnabas. It's hard not to get so wrapped up in the raw emotion of this text that we miss the greater point. God often works things together for good. By the end of this text there are two separate mission teams, one working in Asia and the other back in Cyprus. We will also look at an important backstory, Barnabas' mentoring of John Mark that leads to his rehabilitation. It's a powerful reminder that God is sovereign and that he does His perfect work using imperfect people. It's an account that gives us hope since we are exactly those kind of people... flawed and prone to argue and withdraw from one another.
